Hello and welcome — I'm Myrna, the hands and heart behind Capable Sparrow Sewing Room. I've been sewing for more than twenty years. Many friends first knew me for garments and dressmaking, but these days my greatest joy is creating for the home: slipcovers, cushions, curtains, dog beds, and small comforts that make everyday life feel a little softer.

The name comes from two places close to my heart. Proverbs 31 speaks of the capable woman who delights to work with her hands, and Matthew 10:29 reminds us that not even a sparrow falls without our Father's notice. My home has long been filled with little sparrows — quiet reminders to trust, and to make with care.

What started as custom home sewing has grown, gently. A first pop-up brought so much love that I began sharing the smaller handmade goods too — weighted lavender hearts, tract holders, coffee-cup gift-card keepsakes, charcuterie boards, and vintage fabrics stitched into something new. Along the way came Solace, a small botanical self-care line, and an apparel collection printed on soft Bella+Canvas tees and sturdy canvas totes.
